Dog ramp review: Covercraft

Today I want to talk about a dog ramp that I bought to help my dog get in and out of my truck and tell you what my honest feelings are about it. I spent a lot of time looking at various ramps online before purchasing this one and think it's important when purchasing an item that will literally be holding your animals weight (life) on it, that we know how other consumers have fared using the item before making our purchase.

I was not given this item, unfortunately....because it wasn't cheap! I did purchase it. The price was around $120, though they did provide free shipping and I ordered it from a company called Covercraft.

Litter Genie cat litter system review

This post is sponsored by Brand Backer and Litter Genie.

I'm sure you know I have a cat because I've talked about her here with different products. What you don't know is how much I hate litter smells. I don't want to have a kind of house that people walk in and go "oh you must have cats". Embarrassing! So cat litter odors are something I obviously have to deal with daily.

I also live in the woods, so it's quite a hike down to my garbage can at the end of the drive every day to dispose of freshly soiled cat litter. Luckily, we found a solution recently.

Litter Genie helped me to tackle that problem this month when they sent us a Litter Genie Cat Litter Disposal System to try out. The first thing that struck me about this system is that it's very modern looking. I can put this anywhere in my house and it doesn't look like something that's got cat poop in it. It just looks like a modern style garbage can.

Pure Salmon oil for dogs and cats: Review

I was really happy to get the chance to review Pure Salmon Oil for dogs and cats. Lulu is a big dog (half boxer) and has had some joint problems in the last year or so. Trixie (cat) doesn't have any health problems but since salmon oil is supposed to help bolster the immune system she'll hopefully stay that way! We've tried a lot of supplements over the years and most worked for awhile, but it seems the pets get used to them and they stop working.

Lulu especially! She was starting to get stiff in the mornings and after long naps so I figured it was time to try something else to ease the ache of her old joints. I got Zesty Paws salmon oil to try.

I have to admit that it took my dog a little while to warm up to this product. At first when I put it on her food, she'd take a bite then look at me like "what is that taste???" After a few days though, she grew to love it and now I can only put it on her food at mealtimes because she will eat the whole bowl! I leave food out free choice and with this salmon oil on it, I have to take the bowl away from her or she'd just keep eating! lol Within a few days she was back to her crazy bouncy self! Her coat seems shinier too.

The cat wasn't nearly as hesitant to try it! Trixie doesn't seem to notice when it's on her food which is pretty amazing for a cat! Since she didn't have any health problems to begin with, it's harder to gauge any benefits very quickly. I have not seen any negative effects, and I will update if I notice any. Her coat is shiny and soft and she tears around the house like a kitten still!

You can order it on Amazon but be forewarned, they changed the labeling so it's mostly all orange and  might look a bit different. Just make sure it says Zesty Paws and you've got the right stuff!

I like that the bottle came sealed in shrink wrap plastic and with a inverted cap underneath the bottle cap. This product is sealed really well! It came with a dispenser cap and a pump which I chose to use. It's really easy to use! I would definitely recommend this product for stiff joints and dull coat. She's only been using it a few weeks, but I can't wait to see in what other ways it benefits her!

Lion Mane Cat Hat: Review

Lion Mane Cat Hat Review

Isn't this is the darn cutest thing ever?
I have a Bengal cat and she just loves wearing this little lion mane cat hat from Prymal Comfort. Of course Trixie is used to me dressing her up, so she tolerates it well.....I think she likes it even!

Trixie looks absolutely adorable in this hat. It's easy to get on. It has a large Velcro chin strap and it's adjustable. Just slip it right on and press the Velcro together. It does take a second to get her ears positioned right inside the hat, since there are no ear holes though. I absolutely think this is the cutest thing she owns!

We call it her Trump hat! LOL That is not a political statement...it's funny! It's even funnier because the same company sells a cat Trump hair hat!

If your cat is not used to dressing up then practice, practice, practice! She'll get better the more she tries it. I have hats, coats, sweaters and several costumes for my cat and she wears them all. I can't say she likes them, but she tolerates it just fine. (as you can see from my Instagram pictures) She was even playing while wearing it, running through her new tunnel toy!

You can order the hat on Amazon.
I think you're cat will look adorable too!

Cat Tunnel Toy: Review!

It's Trixies second birthday! She's so terribly spoiled rotten and has been helping me review products for about a year now. In honor of her birthday, she got to review a 3 tunnel cat toy this month! Talk about a purrfect birthday present for a cat!

Lol...Ok, no more cat puns. I promise.
Furgive me? ;-)

Cat tunnel from Amazon, review

I'm sort of torn as to how to rate this product and I will tell you why: my cat is a 2 year old Bengal. She absolutely loves this 3 tunnel cat toy with stars!! It's large enough for her to run through easily. She loves that she can 'pop up' in the middle of the tunnels! She seems to especially enjoy the crinkle fabric in the center. It is great fun for her and the other cat in the household.

As a Bengal however, she is a lot rougher than a normal house cat and has put a hole in the fabric in 1 of the tunnels already. It's only a small slit and it hasn't continued to run or tear. She's had it about 3 weeks and plays in it every day!

As the pictures show it is 3 fabric tunnels connected by a center piece which has a hole in the top and is made of a very crinkly sounding fabric. It's bright blue, soft and flexible. It has lots of ties on it to fold it in and store it in a small space when you want it out of the way. There are no rigid pieces in the center so the 3 tubes move around a bit, but she loves rolling around in them.

You can order it on Amazon and it even comes in different colors!

I hope you cat enjoys it as much as Trixie does!

Purina One 28 day Challenge

I have a Shiba Inu named bear and he's definitely getting up in the years. He's 14 and acts every bit of his age! I decided to accept the Purina One 28 day challenge to see if the change in his food (nutrition) made any change in him. He's been on the same food for about 8 years now and his health has been slowly declining. I assumed it was age, but figured I'd give a new food a try and see what happens.

A small box arrived from Smiley 360. It included a sample of Purina One dog food, a coupon for a free 8lb bag of food and an information booklet and card explaining the changes I might see in my dog once I switched his food.

I used the sample packets over the course of 3 days mixing it into his food a little more each day. I didn't want him to get sick from the sudden transition! This is a really good idea any time you transition your dog to a new food. He really liked the Purina One and started picking it out of his bowl right away! Silly pup!
