Today I am writing a voluntary review of the Simply Earth subscription box. I started getting the subscription box the last month and I'm super excited about it so I wanted to share with you exactly what you get every month in this essential oil subscription box and my opinions on the box.
I saw this box advertised on Facebook and liked the idea that every month you get not only your 4 therapeutic grade, full size, pure essential oils but also accessories to use them and recipe cards. You can create 6 natural home, body and wellness products from each kit and still have most of your essential oils left over!
What convinced me to get this box, honestly, was a coupon code. And I do have one for you too, so if you're already ready to order scroll down to the bottom and the code is down there.
Of course I had been looking at it for a while before I placed my order. Since before Christmas actually.

What is REALLY in a subscription box?
By now we're all familiar with the concept behind subscription boxes. You chose a theme, find a company to order from, pay a fee and a shipment of goodies arrives at your door. You try out all the items and decide which ones you want to keep buying. Subscription boxes come in all types, sizes and prices. Some are monthly while others are quarterly. The best part of subscription boxes is the surprise aspect. But how do you know if you're actually going to like what's in the subscription box?
Month to month, you really don't know, but you can make an educated guess. The contents of some subscription boxes are tailored to your choices, others are completely random and still others are identical for everyone. Most companies offer 1 option but many have created a small/medium/large size (and price) choice. They key is knowing what type you're ordering and looking it up!
We get several subscription boxes here. My son is dying for a gamer box, but so far only gets a snack box from Japan. The dog gets her own treat & toy box and I get a few makeup subscription boxes including Sephora Play!
Every one of these companies puts out beautiful advertisements and glossy pictures and makes the boxes look amazing.....but how do you know what's really in there? After all, some of these pictures show you all the options possible. So while the promotional image shows 3 lipsticks, or 6 crystals, or 4 bath bombs, each box only contains one. Or the promotional image is the deluxe box, but you're thinking or ordering the regular. So, what's really in the box you're ordering?

Best makeup subscription box
I really feel that Sephora play! is going to be the subscription box of the year. I have ordered many makeup subscriptions over the years and the boxes I have gotten from Sephora Play! have been my favorite so far. Once you see what was in my box for January 2017, I think you'll agree it's a nice selection.
First of all, you get 6 things per month not 5 like Ipsy. Well, you get 5 plus a perfume sample. I also love the little drawstring bags they send in the Sephora box. I have liked many of the Ipsy bags over the years, but you really can only use so many of those and I literally have 2 dozen that I'm not using (and another half dozen that I sent to the thrift store because they just weren't cute) These drawstring bags are more versatile and I've just adored every one that I've seen so far!

Ipsy Subscription Bag Review
I have been a subscriber of the Ipsy Glam bag since 2013 and for some reason it never occurred to me to show you the bag and it's contents until now! lol (it's ok to laugh at me, it was pretty silly) Ipsy is a monthly makeup sampling service. For just $10 a month, they send you a little makeup bag with samples and/or full sized products. Each month follows a theme and they send along a little card to introduce you to that months theme.
So this is what is in my March Glam bag that just came in the mail. This month is called Floral Fantasy and of course it has an adorable little floral bag to go with the theme!

Walmart Beauty Box, great deal for $5!
I have been ordering monthly subscription boxes for several years now. When I found out about the WalMart Beauty Box I had to order it. I was absolutely thrilled with it! At just $5 it is definitely the cheapest women's beauty subscription box. Unlike most beauty boxes, this one is sent out seasonally and contains a mix of sample and full sized beauty and body care products. Here is what my first one looked like...
As you can see there are 3 trial sized Dove products. A shampoo & a conditioner for fine hair (which I have) and a body wash, all multi use sizes. There are 2 Ponds products, an anti-aging face cream and a packet of cleansing towelettes. There is also a full sized CoverGirl outlast lipstick and I am super excited about this one! I loved their old formula so when I heard it was improving I couldn't wait to try it. I adore the mauve color they sent me. There is also a one use sample of Maybelline powder.
In the boxes I've received since this first one, it seems like walmart gives a pretty good job of giving a mix of full size, trial size and sample sized products. They often include little advertising flyers for some of the products included in the box. These usually have coupons on them.
Here is another picture of a walmart beauty box for comparison. All the items are described in another post but to sum it up:
Loreal shampoo and conditioner trial size bottles. I got several uses out of these.
Caress body wash trial size, several uses.
Palmers cocoa butter lotion, trial size bottle & skin therapy oil packet with a coupon for $1 off purchase,
Lady Gaga eau de parfum spray.
Burt's Bees Intensive firming serum sample packet & $3 off coupon.
Coupon for a FREE Full size 48 hour Dry spray antiperspirant. Choice of Dove, Degree or Axe.
As you can see it is still an excellent mix of types of items and sizes. In the years since I started getting this box I have NEVER been disappointed in the contents. Of course some months it wasn't amazing, but it has always been well worth the money!
I think this box has a nice selection and definitely worth more then the $5 they charged for it! If you want to subscribe to the box just go to Walmart Beauty and sign up. Make sure you fill out your profile, I've found this is key to getting what you want from subscription boxes.
If you're looking at different subscription boxes and not sure which ones you're actually going to like...check out my trick for finding out exactly what is in a subscription box. It's simple to use social media like Instagram to find out what everyone is getting in there boxes, and then you can make a good guess as to whether you'll like it or not. Take it from me though, I'm pretty sure you'll like this one!
